Your calendar is already ridiculous:

- Your own business that you’re trying to grow in the cracks of the day.
- Laundry.
- Dinner.
- The dog needs walking.
- Your partner asks what the plan is for the weekend.
You cannot remember the last time you sat down without doing three things at once.
Then the school sends a message: Could you bake 24 cupcakes for the summer fair on Friday?
Your whole body tightens and you feel the NO immediately.
The exhaustion.
The pressure.
The pure internal eye-roll.
And then you watch yourself typing: “Of course, happy to help!”
Not because you have the time.
Not because you want to.
But because you don’t want to disappoint anyone.
You don’t want to be seen as difficult, selfish, uncaring, unreliable.
So you say yes. Again. 🙈
And later, while icing cupcakes at 10:43pm, already exhausted and slightly furious, you wonder why you keep doing this to yourself.
